Source. Bank of Japan, BOJ-NET Funds Transfer System (the Bank of Japan's RTGS system for large-value interbank payments, money-market settlements and the cash legs of JGB trades): the latest cleanly published full-system figure is a daily average of about 100 trillion yen (2010, BIS CPSS Red Book; 73-77 trillion/day in 2001-02). Annualised over ~245 settlement days, ~24,500 trillion yen. The present-day value is higher - the BOJ now publishes only monthly statistics, not a clean annual aggregate - so this is a real but explicitly dated 2010 full-system anchor, not a current-year figure. Yen ~150/US$. Source: boj.or.jp / bis.org.
